Step-by-step

  • In a large glass cooking pan mix the 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, 2 tablespoons honey and olive oil.
  • With a fork poke the London broil and add it the glass pan. Turn to insure the meat is well covered with the mixture.
  • Cover and place in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, occasionally turning the meat.
  • In a small heavy bottom sauce pan add 1 cup balsamic vinegar, 3 tablespoons honey, cranberries and tart cherries. Cook over moderate high heat until reduced by half.
  • When the right consistency is reached, not too thick nor too thin, turn off the heat and add the butter. Mix well.
  • Preheated oven at 375º. In a broiling pan (the one with a top part that has slits and sits over a shallow bottom pan) place the London broil.
  • Cook in the oven for 20 minutes. Turn the oven to broil and broil on both sides for about 5 minutes in each side.
  • Remove from oven, cover and set aside for a couple of minutes. Re-warm the balsamic-vinegar sauce. Slice the meat and serve with the sauce over it.

As a busy professional, it can be hard to find time to prepare a flavorful and satisfying meal after a long day. That's why I love this London Broil with Balsamic-Honey Vinegar recipe. It's easy to make and packed with delicious flavor, making it the perfect choice for a weeknight dinner. Plus, it's a great way to use up any leftover London broil you might have on hand.

The secret to this recipe lies in the marinade. The balsamic vinegar and honey create a sweet and tangy flavor that perfectly complements the beef. The marinade also helps to tenderize the meat, resulting in a juicy and flavorful dish. I like to marinate the London broil for at least two hours, but you can marinate it for up to overnight if you have the time. Once the meat is marinated, it's simply roasted in the oven until cooked to your desired doneness. I like to cook my London broil to medium-rare, but you can cook it to any level of doneness you prefer. While the meat is roasting, you can make the balsamic-honey vinegar sauce. This sauce is incredibly easy to make and adds a delicious finishing touch to the dish. Simply combine balsamic vinegar, honey, cranberries, and tart cherries in a saucepan and simmer until the sauce has reduced by half. Once the sauce is thickened, stir in a pat of butter and remove it from the heat. Once the London broil is cooked, slice it thinly and serve it with the balsamic-honey vinegar sauce. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
