Tuna Melts: A Family-Friendly Delight

My own tuna melts are a hit with my kids, and I'm sure your family will love them too! They're perfect for a quick and easy meal, and they're packed with flavor. The combination of tuna, celery, red bell pepper, and cheese is irresistible. Plus, they're so easy to make, even your kids can help out.

I always start by draining each can of tuna. Then, I mix the tuna with chopped celery, red bell pepper, low-fat mayonnaise, red onion, dill pickle, and spicy brown mustard. I refrigerate the mixture for 15 minutes to let the flavors meld. Meanwhile, I cut a loaf of wheat French bread into 1-inch thick slices. After the tuna mixture has chilled, I pile about 1/4 of the mixture onto each slice of bread. Then, I top each sandwich with a slice of provolone cheese. I place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake them in a 350-degree oven for 12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve the sandwiches warm and enjoy!
