Turmeric Milkshake

Turmeric Milkshake. First there was Turmeric Milk, then there was Turmeric Tea, then there was everything under the sun that Ive been including turmeric in- all for good reason. I LOVE turmeric and you should too This milkshake is thick and creamy without any of the cream or dairy like most milkshakes and of course, has the queen spice turmeric! It's been hot here in Nashville to say the least like, so hot. 100 degrees F (38 degrees C) and humid, so my body is craving something cold and refreshing most days of the week and this one totally hits the spot for breakfast, a snack, or even dessert. To recap why I love turmeric so much, Ill just touch on the basics because those of you who have been reading along with me now know this and it's probably drilled into your minds. Turmeric is one of the most powerful inflammation fighting spices, it tastes amazing and can be used in sweet and savory dishes. Not only is this a beautiful creamy texture, but it's also stunning as you can see! The golden yellow color is beautiful and reminds me of summer. I always like to give you options with my recipes and exercise flexibility and this recipe is no different. If you're looking for something a little bit more protein rich, I highly recommend adding in a vanilla plant-based protein powder to easily boost the protein to 15-25g protein depending on the brand. You can also add more healthy fats to this by adding almond butter or peanut butter (which actually makes this taste like a cake batter!), and you can add a pinch of cayenne for a kick of heat which is really fun with the ice cold milkshake. Another option, if you dont want to use frozen bananas in this recipe, you can actually use my Simply Coconut Milk Ice Cream instead, which is delicious and adds more richness to this recipe than the bananas do. A cool, creamy, non-dairy milkshake made with the queen spice turmeric. Get nourished!

My Go-To Turmeric Milkshake: A Summertime Staple

As a busy working mom, finding time to nourish myself properly can be a challenge. Between work deadlines, school runs, and family commitments, sometimes a quick, healthy, and delicious meal is exactly what I need to keep my energy levels up. That's where this Turmeric Milkshake comes in. It's become my absolute favorite summertime treat – a refreshing, flavorful drink that's packed with nutrients and incredibly easy to make.

The vibrant golden hue of this milkshake alone is enough to lift my spirits on a hot day. But it's the taste that truly keeps me coming back for more. It's creamy and subtly sweet, with the warm, earthy flavor of turmeric taking center stage. It’s not overpowering, though. The subtle sweetness from the bananas blends perfectly with the spices, creating a balanced and satisfying flavor profile. I love how versatile it is; sometimes I'll add a scoop of my favorite vanilla protein powder for an extra protein boost after a workout, other times I’ll leave it simple, focusing on the natural ingredients.

What I particularly appreciate about this recipe is its simplicity. The ingredients are readily available, and the preparation process takes only minutes. This makes it the perfect grab-and-go breakfast or a refreshing afternoon pick-me-up. The creamy texture is amazing, especially if you use frozen bananas. They add a lovely thickness without needing any ice cream or other dairy products.

This milkshake isn't just delicious; it also delivers a powerful nutritional punch. Turmeric, the star ingredient, is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It’s a spice I try to incorporate into my diet regularly, as I find it helps me feel my best. The coconut milk adds healthy fats, the bananas provide potassium, and the chia seeds offer a boost of fiber. It’s a guilt-free indulgence that fuels my body with goodness.

Beyond its nutritional benefits, this milkshake is a visual delight. The rich, golden color makes it an Instagram-worthy creation, a perfect addition to my summer food photography. But honestly, I'm often too busy to take pictures; I usually gulp it down before I can even think about it. The convenience and tastiness make this the ideal quick and healthy meal or snack.

I always recommend adjusting the recipe to your own tastes. Feel free to experiment with different nut butters, add a pinch of cayenne for a spicy kick (a fun surprise!), or use another plant-based milk if you prefer. The beauty of this recipe lies in its adaptability. It's a blank canvas for your culinary creativity.

So, if you're looking for a refreshing, nutritious, and delicious way to beat the summer heat, give this Turmeric Milkshake a try. It's the perfect blend of taste and health that fits seamlessly into my busy lifestyle. I guarantee you’ll love it as much as I do. It’s the perfect way to start my day or rejuvenate myself during a hectic afternoon. Give it a try, and let me know what you think!

A final note: I often experiment with different variations of this recipe. Sometimes I’ll add a handful of spinach for an extra nutritional boost (you can’t even taste it!), and sometimes I'll simply stick to the original recipe for its simple deliciousness. The possibilities are endless!
