Step-by-step

  • Put the ribs on a side and combine all ingredients. Make your own seasoning. (I triple the quantity for everything, so I can store this seasoning for next time I'm doing ribs)
  • Rub the ribs with this seasoning. Be generous. You need the ribs to be completely covered in this seasoning. Leave it on, in the fridge for at least 4-8 hours for marinating the ribs... I leave them overnight.
  • Preheat oven at 400F.
  • Drizzle 2 TBS Olive oil in an iron skillet, add the meat and sprinkle one more time with a little bit of olive oil. Cover iron skillet with aluminum foil.
  • Leave in oven 1 hour. Remove the foil, and leave in oven for 15 more minutes.
  • Enjoy!

But lately, I've discovered a recipe that's become a weekly lifesaver: Memphis-style ribs cooked in an iron skillet. The best part? I make my own seasoning blend from scratch. It's so easy and incredibly rewarding to control the flavor profile completely. I usually triple the recipe so I have enough seasoning on hand for several meals. The rich, smoky flavor of these ribs is simply irresistible. And, the beauty of this recipe is its adaptability. I love pairing these ribs with my favorite sides – peasant potatoes are a personal favorite, but mashed potatoes or grilled zucchini work equally well. The combination of tender, flavorful ribs and your choice of comforting sides makes for a truly satisfying and delicious meal.
