Step-by-step

  • I use my small Ninja chopper but any blender, chopper or food processor would work. The Truvia needs to be ground to a finer consistency and it helps integrate the Stevia and Truvia more thoroughly.
  • Put half the Truvia and 1 tsp Stevia powder in the chopper (or whatever gadget you are using.)
  • Grind to a finer consistency.
  • Put in a bowl to the side.
  • Repeat with remaining Truvia and Stevia.
  • Mix it all back together and put back into the Truvia container making sure to mark it Double Sweet.

My Secret Weapon for Baking: DIY Double Sweet Truvia

As a busy mom of three, I’m always looking for ways to make life easier – and that includes baking! I love baking delicious treats for my family, but I’m also mindful of sugar intake. That's why I've become a huge fan of Truvia, a natural sweetener. However, even Truvia can sometimes feel a little underwhelming in terms of sweetness, especially when I'm working with recipes that call for a lot of sugar. That's when I discovered my amazing secret weapon: DIY Double Sweet Truvia!

This simple hack takes just minutes and completely transforms the sweetness and baking power of Truvia. It involves simply grinding the Truvia to a finer consistency and combining it with a small amount of high-quality stevia powder. The result? A dramatically sweeter, more potent sweetener that performs beautifully in baking, allowing me to reduce the overall amount of sweetener needed while maintaining that delicious sweetness I crave. This means fewer calories and a healthier outcome without sacrificing taste. It's a game-changer, truly. The best part? It's incredibly simple to make!

Why I love this recipe:

  • It’s quick and easy: The whole process takes less than 5 minutes.
  • It's cost-effective: Using a combination of Truvia and stevia is more economical than buying pre-made, intensely sweet sweeteners.
  • It's healthier: Reducing the overall amount of sweetener required per recipe leads to healthier baked goods.
  • It boosts the baking power of Truvia: The finer grind ensures even sweetness throughout the baked goods. This prevents those unfortunate pockets of "not-sweet-enough" areas.

I use a small food processor, but any blender or chopper works perfectly. Simply grind half the Truvia with a teaspoon of stevia, set it aside, and repeat with the remaining Truvia. Then, mix everything together and store it back in the original Truvia container. Remember to clearly label it "Double Sweet Truvia!"

I started making this a few months ago and I haven't looked back since. My family enjoys our favorite cakes, cookies, and muffins even more knowing they’re a little healthier, thanks to my Double Sweet Truvia. I encourage you to try it – you won't be disappointed! This isn't just a simple recipe; it’s a lifestyle improvement for all of us who appreciate both great taste and healthier living. Plus, it's a great conversation starter – everyone always wants to know the secret to my unbelievably sweet and delicious baked goods!

Tips for success:

  • Use good quality stevia powder. The flavor and sweetness vary between brands.
  • Make sure the Truvia is finely ground. This is key for even sweetness and optimal baking performance.
  • Label your container clearly! You don't want to accidentally use the double sweet Truvia in a recipe that doesn't need it.
  • Experiment with the ratio of Truvia to stevia to find your perfect balance of sweetness.

This simple tweak has made a world of difference in my baking adventures. It’s become an essential ingredient in my pantry, and I'm confident it will become yours too. So, give it a try and let me know what you think! Happy baking!
